April Johnson was sworn in as the new 2019-2020 president of the Brooksville Rotary Club this evening, the club announced. As a mother of 3, April is active in the local school system, chamber of commerce, government workgroups advocating for vulnerable populations, and is involved in the Local Republican Party. April is alumni for PHSC with a bachelors in Business and a focus in Public Safety.

April works as a Community Engagement Coordinator for Dawn Center here in Hernando County where she connects the community to the available service they offer. She is a graduate of the greater chamber of commerce leadership Hernando class 2016 and past co-chair of the marketing committee.

She is a founding member of The Familia de Gladitores Krewe out of Tampa and it gives April another avenue to spread her wings for growth and awareness in all those she touches. April serves as the Founding Community Service Liaison of FGK.

April has teamed up with some amazing women in the community and is also a member of the group 100+ Women who care who gave almost 25k to the local community since inception.

With that busy schedule she uses her spare time for family activities and travel and self-care via art projects. she invests in her creative side by painting on glass. Her hobby has evolved from wine glass painting to a mixed media form of art using recycled materials.
