Hernando County detectives are investigating a robbery of the Dollar General Store on Mariner Boulevard.
On Friday evening, June 14, 2019 just before 8:15 p.m., Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from the Dollar General Store located at 3499 Mariner Boulevard in Spring Hill, regarding a Commercial Robbery.
Store clerks told investigators that a white male wearing a black hoodie and dark colored shorts entered the building and walked to the back of the store and pulled his hood up over his head. He then walked back to the front of the store to the cash registers and told store clerks he had a gun and to give them the money from the cash drawers. He then ran out of the store where he may have escaped in a green SUV.
According to official reports, witnesses on scene told investigators the green SUV had damage to the passenger’s side front end. The green SUV was last seen on Portillo Road, headed toward Mariner Boulevard.
Deputies arrived on scene within 80 seconds and an intense manhunt was underway within minutes. However, the suspect managed to escape.
The investigation remains active, with detectives following up on various leads.
