Pasco Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ronald Lee Shimkus, 44, of Hudson after he fired three rounds from an from a .22 caliber semiautomatic rifle in front of a deputy after the deputy warned him not to handle any firearms while intoxicated.

The incident occurred while the deputy was on an unrelated landlord-tenant issue. Shimkus was observed to be in possession of a Co2 pepper gun and was warned to not handle firearms while intoxicated. 

Shimkus went in his house and returned with the rifle and then fired three rounds into the air while proclaiming, “I don’t give a fuck, I’ll go to prison for the rest of my life.” 

Shimkus has been charged with Discharging a Firearm in Public. His bond was set at $1500.
