Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to a home fully engulfed in flames located at 9387 Lakefront Rd in Weeki Wachee, FL 34613.

Emergency responders received initial calls for help from residents in the area and arrived on scene within six minutes. The callers reported that flames and smoke were coming from the roof of a single-story home.

Firemen attempted to contain the blaze but their efforts were unsuccessful due to heavy fire and smoke conditions.

Neighbors told officials that the home was vacant at the time the blaze started but also said that homeless individuals were known to stay on the property.

There were no victims found inside upon a search conducted when the fire was exhausted.

No information on the cause is available at this time. The Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations has been called in to determine the cause of the blaze
