  • Length: 500 typewritten words, double spaced, 1 inch margins, 12 font
  • Deadline: October 15, 2019
  • Winners Will Be Announced and Receive Their Prizes on America’s Day 2019!
  • Writers must reside and be located in Hernando County and must attend America’s Day 2019 Event.

The “WHY DO I LOVE AMERICA?” Essay Contest is open to all writers aged 12-18 at time of the deadline. All entries must be submitted by a Parent, a Teacher, or a Legal Guardian. Writers must reside and be located in Hernando County and must attend America’s Day 2019 Event.

All submissions must be in English. Judging is based on the ability to answer the Theme Question in an articulate, organized manner, using proper essay writing technique, spelling, punctuation, etc.

When: November 2, 2019  ~ 10:00am -2:00pm

America’s Day 2019! festivities will include adventures from Global Jetcare’s runway facility, loads of exhibits, free food, prizes, and kid-friendly speakers. The speakers will emphasize how our Hernando County kids can write American History through their civic involvement in this constitutional Republic. CASH Prizes and Scholarships will be awarded for Essay Contests emphasizing why they Love America! In addition, Kids will have the opportunity to learn about their right and privilege to VOTE, and they will have a Mock Voter Registration and Mock Election that day.

Local Event Sponsors begin with the host facility for America’s Day 2019! at the nationally recognized award-winning air ambulance service, Global Jetcare, Inc., located at 15421 Technology Drive, Brooksville, Florida. In addition, Airport business neighbors Accuform, American Aviation, American Aviation Flight School, National Guard, Coast Guard, Emery Thompson, Hernando County Fire Department at the Airport, and the Brooksville-Tampa Bay Airport have graciously donated significant resources and are hosting exhibits to ensure this will be a day Hernando County kids, and their families, teachers, and schools will never forget. America’s Day 2019! will also have representation by Army, Navy, and Marines. Other Patriotic groups are confirming their presence, as well.

Sponsorship has come outside of Hernando County from St. Leo University, Hillsdale College, Jay Sekulow’s ACLJ, and Gov. Mike Huckabee’s “One Nation Under God program.”

Christian Television Network (CTN) will be onsite filming and producing a television special for their national audience documenting America’s Day 2019! as an event never before held in America that underscores the dire need of our children and youth to be educated in American Civics in preparation to lead this country in the next 10-15 years.
